Miller 2.1-A, W-2465 variety, Small Head ET LIB INDE type.

And now for something completely different:  Here we have a very pleasing, original, golden brown example of this scarce and popular variety which just happens to be a wild, wacko flipover double strike.

With an extremely bold impression of the entire reverse seated figure protruding through the obverse portrait (including even the fully detailed tiny bunned head embedded in the forehead), while on the reverse the figure looks surprisingly like Konishiki as he appeared in the July 1992 Nagoya Basho.

Colonial coin errors are a fascinating sub-specialty, with the greatest interest and strongest demand reserved for the most dramatic, unusual and eye-appealing pieces.  Like this one, for example.
