Ryder-7, W-2025 variety, VERMONTENSIUM. Considered to be Rarity-3.
A superior example of this type with choice chocolate brown color, mostly hard, smooth surfaces and areas of incredible sharpness we have never observed before on this issue, including even the bolts on the plow handle.
This piece is plated in Tony Carlotto’s The Copper Coins of Vermont, page 99, where the author describes it as “Uncirculated“. PCGS has been more conservative, but at whatever grade this is a wonderful piece that would be hard to top at anywhere near this price range.
$23,500
