Newman 104-FF, W-17570 variety, struck in Silver.  One of perhaps 40 or so known.

In two decades of colonial coin certification, PCGS has graded a grand total of 25 of these silver restrikes, but never one higher than MS63+ (a coin we handled back in the day), possibly due to the slightly pebbly surfaces they all have as imparted by the rusted dies used to strike them.

But this one is essentially as made and about as nice as any we’ve seen, with lustrous, original, silvery gray surfaces and excellent eye appeal.
