KM-91 variety, struck in copper.
The standard small change coin of the Netherlands during this period. Each state in the Netherlands coined this denomination, using their own arms as the obverse design and a reverse design similar to this, i.e. "STAD [state your name] / Date."
While these did not officially circulate in America, specimens have turned up on American soil and thus they have greater relevance to the early colonies than many pieces traditionally collected as part of the US series.
While a relatively common coin in low grades, exceptional uncirculated examples like this one are legitimately rare, even more so with the tantalizing mint red exhibited by this specimen.
In all, a neat item and an interesting adjunct to an American colonial coin collection.
