Sheldon-13 variety, considered to be Rarity-4-.
This is a very pretty example of this intensely sought after type, with rich, even chocolate brown color and a nice fresh look that is unusual for most large cents of this grade level and all but unheard of for this issue.
The fields are hard and smooth, the centering is near perfect, the details are sharp save for some localized weakness in the center of the reverse, and there are just a few light marks scattered about, none of which is singularly significant or distracting.
In all, a wonderful example for type, and a coin which we dare say would be impossible to improve upon at anywhere near our price.
This coin is from the CRO archives and is not currently available for sale.
