2nd rarest of the TAL mules and one that holds special significance for your author as it was one of the very first ‘better’ colonials I acquired (with my father’s help) back in the late 1960s.

And while this is not the same example I owned back then, it could have been, as it has similarly choice surfaces and RB color, and was actually sold at auction at about that same time.

But this one would appear at auction again about 10 years later before being squirreled away into a collection for some 40+ years before re-appearing on our list today.
