An interesting piece with the popular gallows motif in this case representing an anti-loyalist viewpoint.

The obverse legend contains a mini-rebus showing Pitt (as in loyalist William Pitt) written as P(eye)T, while the reverse legends states “SUCH IS THE REWARD OF TYRANTS”.

The token itself is an unmitigated gem with superb surfaces, traces of brilliant red in the devices and some pretty blue toning in the fields.
