The extremely popular and rare first quarter eagle design which stands alone in American numismatics as the only use of the Turban Head portrait of Miss Liberty with no obverse stars.

And this was a very short lived issue, with stars added to this design later in the same year after just 963 of these were struck.

With many of those subsequently melted, and many survivors cleaned or mis-handled through the years, making this lovely, original, golden orange Choice XF an extremely rare and desirable example.
