Bolender-11 variety, Wide Date, Low 8, AMERICAI Redbook type.  Now considered to be Rarity-5, but seemingly much tougher than that. 

Indeed, M.H. Bolander himself described this issue as follows:  “Excessively rare variety. It took me 35 years to find a specimen! Rarity 7.”  Evidently a few more have surfaced since Bolander uttered those words, but there cannot be many as nice and original as this piece. 

With very choice surfaces, lovely coin gray color and delicate hints of blue and light golden toning.
