Musante GW-87 variety, struck by John Gregory Hancock in Bronzed Copper. Considered to be Rarity-6 with less than 25 examples traced.

A rare, desirable and truly famous early Washington medal with a stately obverse portrait, and a lovely reverse design featuring a winged, trumpeting Liberty surrounded by WISDOM VIRTUE & PATRIOTISM.

And this is a high end Choice Mint State example.
