A neat and unusual issue exhibiting what we believe is numismatics’ only Seal motif, this is a type normally encountered in grades of F to VF with an example as high as XF or AU piece coming to market only every few years.

But this is in an entirely different category and is only the second mint state example we’ve had a chance to buy in the last decade.

The previous one was an NGC MS62 BN specimen offered Stack’s August 2013 sale of the John J. Ford Collection of Canadian Tokens, lot #21079, where it realized $11,162.

This one is better, with choice chocolate brown color, flashes of original red in the devices and excellent eye appeal.
