Breen-1083, W-9250, struck in Brass and holed for suspension as are all but a couple of the known examples.  Considered to be Rarity-4 as a type, but at least Rarity-6+ in this condition.

Most of the examples we’ve seen through the years have been corroded to one degree or other after having been excavated in Oregon’s Umpqua River Valley decades ago, and susequently cleaned and/or polished (with some of those slipping into graded holders in recent years).

But this example clearly never spent any time outdoors and possesses about the best, original surfaces we’ve seen on this type, with choice golden brass color and the distinctive reverse wear pattern caused by long term suspension on an Indian necklace.

Ex Stack’s September 2006 Auction, lot #209.
