Judd-67, the first gold dollar pattern produced by the US Mint. Considered to be Rarity-5.

Designed by Christian Gobrecht, with the Liberty Cap obverse reminiscent of Mexican coinage of this period, and an unusual coiled palm frond reverse surrounding the denomination expressed as simply as ‘1D.’

The coin itself is pretty nice, with a few minor marks to explain the grade, impressively reflective surfaces and very attractive golden orange color.

Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
