Newcomb-24 die variety, considered to be Rarity-1. 

We bought this coin for two reasons:

1) It is very a fresh light golden brown with great luster and pristine ‘unimproved’ surfaces, and

2) This variety in its early die state has absolutely wild looking die lines in the fields (check out the enlarged photo of the obverse of this coin to see what we mean).

A cool coin for the student of the minting process, offered at a relatively affordable price.
