The strike appears a bit soft, particularly in the central obverse, though it is sharper than many we have seen and handled through the years.

And there are the requisite scattered dings and marks, as always seen on these massive, soft coins, but they aren’t too bad in this case.

The rims, which are susceptible to severe dings and damage based on the sheer weight of this type, are very nicely preserved and well above average on this specimen.

In all, this is a representative example of this extremely popular type.
