Judd-239 variety, struck in silver.  Considered to be Rarity-4.

A lovely design described by Cornelius Vermule in his excellent book Numismatic Art in America as follows:

"The bust of Liberty is none other than that of the Greco-Roman Apollo Belvedere with a large wreath of oak and vine leaves, and awkward ribbon set at various jerky angles around the base of the neck being the surface for the display of the word LIBERTY . . . The Apollo Belvedere of the Vatican was one of the touchstones of learned America’s Neoclassic adventures in classical art abroad between the fall of Napoleon and Bull Run . . .".

To which we can only add "Yeah – what he said.", and mention that this coin is an original gem, with pretty blue-green toning over mirrored surfaces.
