M-NY-495G variety, struck by George Lovett in White Metal.  Considered to be High Rarity-7.

One of our favorite issues, this is a neat half-dollar sized piece celebrating the first Trans-Atlantic cable with a depiction of John Bull representing England and Brother Jonathan representing America communicating electronically (as indicated by the lightning bolts) with this folksy dialogue shown along the rims:

John Bull:  “How are you Jonathan?”

Brother Jonathan:    “Perty well old feller, heows yerself?”

Here mated to the equally charming Boy and Dog reverse (though we do not recommend riding your dog like a pony as illustrated here).

Extremely rare and even more charming, and this is the finest example we’ve seen.
