1863 F-115E-1a, Struck in Copper.
The most popular of all Civil War Tokens, and a piece that enjoys widespread appeal even among non-specialists for its charming Dog motif and GOOD FOR A SCENT motto.
With this being the single highest graded example we’ve had, and the finest seen by PCGS. And while we have had examples with more red remaining in grades from 63 to 66, that mint color is typically accompanied by at least a few spots on this type – while this one is an all but flawless, sharply struck, golden brown über-gem which would be very, very hard to top.
