KM-388.1 variety, struck at the Mexico City mint.

A neat, short-lived, 2-year type struck during the brief reign of the Hapsburg Dynasty in Mexico and featuring an obverse portrait of Emperor Maximilian I, a younger brother of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria:

Franz-Joseph-I-Austria

Who knew?  I did not.

And this is about the most glorious, original example we’ve ever seen, with dramatic, multi-colored toning on the obverse and reverse.
