The explorer named Mr. Cabeza de Vaca was commemorated on this coin – which was incredibly fortunate for the US Mint, which just minutes earlier had finished engraving dies with a cow’s head design and had no idea what to do with them.  [Editor’s note:  The preceding passage was totally made up, is not true at all, and the guy who wrote it has just been sacked].

We can say that this piece is brilliant white, with the satiny luster characteristic of the issue.
