Newman 2-B, W-1135, a variety definitively known only as a circa 1688 original striking. Considered to be Rarity-5+ as an issue, but more like Low Rarity-7 in the condition seen here.
And while the circa 1828 American Plantation restrikes can be found with some frequency in high grades, no-question original strikings like this piece are a whole different matter.
Indeed, in a couple decades of diligent searching we have handled just 4 or 5 no question originals of any variety that were MS62 or higher.
Making this totally original, well made piece with considerable 17th century silver luster remaining a rare opportunity, and a prize for the specialist.
