E-1139b variety, struck in Gilt White Medal.
A dramatic and interesting piece which can be dated (approximately) based on the place names used, such as the Sandwich Islands for what is now Hawaii and New Holland for Australia. Also of note (and not surprising given the era) the United States is seen shoe-horned into the eastern seaboard of North America.
The piece itself is a superb, sharply struck, flashy, all-but-flawless gem with fantastic golden orange color.
Housed in the original brown leather box of issue.
