Musante GW-84, Baker-129 variety, struck in White Metal.

Believed to have been struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Washington’s birth, with  a simplistic BORN / DIED legend on the reverse.

This issue is often seen holed or mishandled, but this is a superb, original, untouched Choice Unc. example suitable for the finest collection.

Ex Stack’s-Bowers November 2019 sale of the William Spohn Baker Collection / Historical Society of Pennsylvania Collection, lot #20071; earlier S.H. and H. Chapman’s June 1882 sale of the Charles I. Bushnell Collection, lot #1331.
