No.142352. Signed by D. Wister and J. Graff.
The obverse bears the field with a plow motif, tinted in orange, with legend HINC OPES (Hence our Wealth).
An interesting note on several levels:
-
As a piece of Continental Currency, dated three years after the Declaration of Indendence, the note is denominated in Spanish Milled Dollars.
-
Signatory J. Graff is also known as the man who rented a room in Philadelphia to Thomas Jefferson so he would have a quiet place to write the Declaration of Independence.
An attractive, circulated example. The color is relatively fresh, though there are a number of minor marks and some edge folds indicating actual use in commerce.
In all, a neat and affordable piece of early Americana.
