Betts-615, one of perhaps two dozen known.

Among the most historically significant and desirable numismatic items we have ever offered – and one of the finest examples of this famous medal in existence.

Fresh, brilliant silver surfaces with lovely golden orange and rich cobalt blue toning dramatically highlighting this lovely design.

The reverse legend NON SINE DIIS ANIMOSUS INFANS is Latin for “The Courageous Child was Aided by the Gods“, as in the courageous infant America aided by the Goddess Minerva (symbolizing France) in the struggle against England.

Conceived (and paid for) by Benjamin Franklin, steeped in American history, symbolic of freedom, awarded to Kings and Presidents, struck in minuscule numbers and acknowledged as among the most beautiful and important medals ever created.

This coin is from the CRO archives and is not currently available for sale.
