May 12, 2020: "Rock Star"

Concept:
When confronted with this neat, interesting, historic and well pedigreed example of Yap Stone Money we knew we simply had to feature it in a CRO ad.

Especially after our guest author came up with the definitive caption for this item. Editor’s note: This is actually the 2nd time we’ve used “Rock Star.” in an ad, the last time was waaaay back in August of 2013. And while we steadfastly try to avoid re-using captions, this one just seemed too appropriate to pass up.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Ironically, the best alternative this week was the also very appropriate “Stone Cold Original.“, an idea we had also used before, but that one much more recently in October of 2019.

Which convinced us to go with the fresher version in our final ad, but not before struggling with how to spell it. Amazingly, I’m pretty sure we got it wrong both times it’s appeared, and should have used Rockstar (one word). Oh well.
