Newman 27-J, W-1585 variety, with 7 Harp Strings on the reverse.  Considered to be Rarity-2.

Virginia Halfpennies are not rare as a type, and can be found even in uncirculated grades with some regularity in the marketplace.  But many of the examples we see have spots or other impairments, and an increasing percentage have, unfortunately, been conserved or artificially enhanced in recent years.

This one, on the other hand, is totally original, with full luster, choice surfaces and much blazing mint red remaining.
