Sheldon-22, ‘Head of 1794’ variety. Considered to be Rarity-1. 

Pleasing chocolate brown color, with hard surfaces and no meaningful defects of note.

This variety is inelegantly known today as the ‘Mounded Reverse’ (based on the die breaks in and around the wreath); Dr. Maris nicknamed it the ‘Large Planchet’ variety over 100  years ago.  Both monikers are accurate. 

Of particular note, though, it the head on this variety, which jumps out in high relief almost like a medal and gives this piece an especially bold look.
