This has always been one of your author’s favorite issues, as I remember my father buying one of these from Coronet Stamp & Coin on Long Island when I was about 6.  In retrospect, that particular coin was horrific (I can still picture it very clearly), with sickly white surfaces, absolutely no luster and very little going for it.

This one, on the other hand, is totally cool, neatly toned (like most of the silver coins on this list) and housed in an ancient PCGS slab.
